It seems now a days that it is deemed "uncool" to fall under a christian denomination or any other type of denomination for that matter. I often find the ones who openly display their devotion to their respective denomination under a barrage of ridicule and criticism. I realize that this is quite often do to their arrogance and self-righteousness but more often than not, this is not the case. After many years of witnessing the display of ignorance and lack of tolerance to relgion I've finally come to two possible conclusions to this enigma we call religion.

What does one have to lose from accepting and embracing a religion ? Absolutely nothing. At the most you will lose a few hours a week or day to your respective denomination. If you are weak of mind you will lose your sanity and become consumed with it and thus continue the cycle of religion being ridiculed. I have met many people who fall into this category as they become so consumed with telling you how you're not perfect and how you will be punished for your sins according to their denomination, that they to begin to epitomize what they are preaching against

What do you have to gain ? According to the majority of the scriptures of the books of the religions, you have eternity a thousand times over to gain. Assume for a second christianity is real, it does exist, there is a god that created all things now and forever. Assume that you do follow righteously. Then, accoring to the good book, the rest of eternity will be yours (imagine, infinite virgins night after night after night after night).

I understand religion corrupts. I understand religion causes war. I understand many of the Deviant Artists assume the role of agnosticism and atheism. Im not trying to convert or throw my views at anyone. I merely arrived at these conclusions after really grasping a greater understanding of myself and the world around me.
